If you have questions or comments or would like to become a special part of this project, please contact me.

Not wishing to intrude, I do not attempt to contact the families of the fallen, trusting instead that each  of these paintings will find their way home. If you are a relative or a friend or know a family member of one of the men or women portrayed in these paintings, please pass the word.

Public showings of the portraits are available. Call to book an event for your community group.

Steve, with your genuine, adventurous personality, and your love of life and fellow man, I expect that you will go far in your chosen field. I am proud of you for what you have accomplished, so very proud indeed.

    Dear Mr Gaebel,

I just came across your web-site and read about the ‘Fallen Canadian soldiers” project.

I am the father of Captain Nichola Goddard, and I would like to thank you for taking on this work. The paintings look quite beautiful.

I understand that you are exhibiting these at various places. I hope they are receiving the appreciation they deserve.

Should you have the opportunity during future exhibitions, please could you let people know that more information about Nichola, and the legacy of her life, can be found at http://www.nicholagoddard.com

This year (on May 17) we shall mark the 5th anniversary of her death. We are in the process of updating the website and would be pleased to put in a link to your site, should you be in agreement. I would appreciate a copy of your painting, should that be available. If you could send a jpeg version as well then we can put that on the website.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Sincerely, Tim Goddard

  4. Amanda Arndt says:

    Dear Mr. Gaebel

My name is Amanda, and I am the younger sister of Master Corporal Raymond Arndt, who was killed in Afghanistan Aug 5, 2006. On behalf of our family, I want to thank you for taking the time to remember those who have given their lives trying to make the world a better place for the rest of us. My big brother had always been my hero; its an honor to share him with the world.
Your paintings look amazing, and I’m hoping one day my brother’s face shall grace your canvas as well. My father, Walter Arndt, heard of your project and would love to share in this as well. My brother was his only son, and he has taken the loss hard. He truly is honored that people remember him so fondly, and that his memory lives on. I would love to put you in contact with him should you ever want that (I’m fairly certain that next to the grandchildren, my dad’s favorite thing is to talk about Ray!).
Thank you once again for your kind and selfless act.
    Sincerely
    Amanda Arndt

I am a friend of Cindy Higgins whose son Cpl. Thomas Hamilton was killed while serving in Afghanistan on Dec 13, 2008. As with all the fallen soldiers families it is something she will never get over. I know she would love to own one of these paintings if you ever do one of her son. Thank you so much for doing this for these derserving families. They are truly beautiful rememberances of lives lost too soon.
